Over the course of these 10 days, we immersed ourselves in an incredible learning experience. From blogging to cyber hygiene, robotics, entrepreneurship, and leadership, we explored a wide range of topics. This journey was not only about acquiring knowledge but also about stepping out of our comfort zones and embracing growth on a personal and collective level.

Lessons Learned

1. Stepping Out of My Comfort Zone

Before this journey, I preferred to stay in my comfort zone, avoiding situations where I had to express myself in front of others. Explaining my thoughts to even one person was challenging, let alone speaking in front of 50. However, I discovered the importance of communication—not just listening to my inner guidance but also understanding others’ perspectives. This experience taught me that sharing ideas and analyzing others’ thoughts can lead to better decisions and personal growth.

2. Facing Competition and Embracing Leadership

For the first time, I found myself participating in a competition. This was far from my usual self, as I always avoided such situations. However, I realized the significance of proving my worth and pushing my limits. What challenged me even more was leading a team. It was daunting, as I had always preferred working alone. But seeing my team’s faith in me gave me the strength to take on the challenge. Those two days of leadership taught me the value of teamwork, responsibility, and resilience.

3. Managing Conflict and Controlling My Temper

Another significant moment was learning to tolerate and manage my temper. While I would usually confront someone who treated me unfairly, during this journey, I chose to focus on the bigger picture. I realized that patience and understanding can pave the way for better relationships and a harmonious environment, even in challenging situations.

Key Observations

  1. The Comfort Zone Challenge
    • I wasn’t alone in my struggle to step out of my comfort zone. Around 70% of the girls I interacted with shared similar feelings. This reinforced the need for programs like these to empower young women to embrace new experiences.
  2. The Value of Knowledge Over Money
    • Many young people still prioritize immediate financial gain over long-term knowledge and skills. I noticed frustration among some participants who expected financial rewards instead of realizing the immense value of what they were learning. This mindset needs to change, as knowledge, when used wisely, can bring sustainable financial stability.
  3. The Gender Gap in Technology
    • During company visits, I was shocked to see that women made up less than 2% of the workforce in the tech industry. This highlights the pressing need to encourage more women to pursue careers in technology. Bridging this gap will take time, but the work must start now.

Commitments and Future Goals

This journey has inspired me to take action and make a difference:

  • Empowering Girls: I plan to help other girls step out of their comfort zones, encouraging them to work collaboratively and value others’ perspectives.
  • Promoting Financial Independence: I aim to educate young women on the importance of financial stability and show them that they don’t always need to leave home to achieve it. Addressing financial issues can resolve many societal challenges women face.
  • Advocating for Gender Equality in Technology: I will actively work to raise awareness about the gender disparity in technology and encourage more girls to pursue careers in this field.

This journey was transformative in every sense. It challenged my beliefs, reshaped my mindset, and equipped me with the tools to inspire others. Just like these 10 days, our lives are short and precious, and the lessons we learn along the way can create a ripple effect of positive change.

I am committed to using what I’ve learned to help others grow, break barriers, and build a brighter future for women in technology and beyond.
